Coach Baravarian attended Northport High School where he was a 10 time Varsity letter holder. He was a 5 time Captain of his Winter/Spring Track team and a earned all league and all county honors 2 consecutive years. Coach B has competed in numerous national invitationals including; The Penn Relays, Brown University, Yale University, Warwick College, and The Bear Mountain Invitational.  In his junior year he placed 10th in the Eastern States championship in the 55 meter hurdles.

In the 2008-2009 season Coach B was the assistant coach of Huntington High School Boys Varsity Spring track team where he was instrumental in their 4x100m relay team capturing the league championship and shattering a 25 year old school record.

In the 2009-2010 season Coach B was asked to assistant coach the Girls Varsity Winter Track team at Huntington. During the winter season Coach B completely redesigned their strength and conditioning program to be more focused on plyometrics and explosive actions.  He helped lead the girls to a Silver Medal in their League Championship.  At the League II championship there were 4 individual top 5 medal earners as well as a League II and County Championship 4x200 relay team which had previously broken their school record 3 times over the course of the season.

Currently Coach B has put aside his running shoes in favor of bare feet. He is a member of the Serra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team coached under the legendary Gracie black belt and former UFC Welter Weight Champion Matt Serra.  Over the years Coach B has had the opportunity to train under some of the worlds top Jiu Jitsu masters including brothers Matt & Nick Serra, Renzo Gracie, John Danaher, Ricardo Almedia, and Pete Sell. He also trains his Muay Thai and Kickboxing under UFC trainer James Gabert.

Coach Baravarian is currently teaching in the special education department at GNSHS. He teaches Biology and Earth Science and is looking forward to bringing his experience and infamous work ethic to an already championship caliber team.
